Ammonium sulfite is recommended for use as an agricultural fertilizer
As shown in Table 1 and Table 2:
1、In potted rice and wheat grown in different soils, the application of ammonium sulfite significantly increased yields compared to no application. The yield increases ranged from 220% to 524% for rice and 105% to 292% for wheat.
2、The pot experiment also demonstrated that the fertilizer efficacy of ammonium sulfite was superior to that of ammonium sulfate on sandy soils and red soils, while it was comparable to ammonium sulfate on mixed soils and alkaline soils.
3、The results of comparative field trials on top dressing for different crops demonstrated that ammonium sulfite exhibited slightly inferior fertilizer efficacy compared to urea when applied to rice and cotton, while showing similar efficacy to ammonium sulfate. When applied to corn, its fertilizer efficacy was comparable to ammonium sulfate and slightly superior to urea.
The aforementioned results indicate that ammonium sulfite is a fast-acting ammonium-based nitrogen fertilizer, which can be directly used as an agricultural fertilizer.
